They haven't won a proper trophy since the 1950s i think. They came very close to winning trophies 10 years back but second place sucks.
Every time they get a really good player they sell straight away. Muppet chairman is to blame
They were my team to follow since i was small, just gave up on football last few years. Ah well, at least they are back in prem though.

in fact, i still laugh about it now
and they won the championship the other year, which is the 2nd highest league we have [premier > championship > league 1 > league 2] which technically is still a trophy, but they havent won a cup or the top league for aaages
i think mike ashley [the newc chairman]'s plan is to get loads of young promising players in for cheap and sell them for a profit. as soon as someone goes in for the likes of cabaye and santon [who i really like even tho they play for newc ] they'll be straight out the door. cant blame him tho, he's been wanting to sell the club for ages but no-one wants to buy it and he's lost loads of money since he's took it over. they havnt been the same since they got rid of bobby robson, which was an absolutely retarded thing to do
