Re: Bring the <3
I had Tf2 on my Steam account though I never bothered playing. I lent out my account to Cook so he could play the L4d demo, he added a few of his freinds. I retained posession of the account and had a look on the freinds list and Johnny The Jew was online so I started a convo with him about Tf2 and he reccomended playing on Fester's place, in which I did. I joined the server and started playing with Jonny and Fester, I remained playing until the server was packed. A server with regulars, decent atmosphere, funny maps and overall a good place to play, ticks all the right boxes. From their onwards Fester's Place was my local.

Re: Bring the <3
This thread is why I <3 Festers Place. Festers Place was there for me when I was frustrated with my OLD computer, and now it's here for me when I am frustrated with my NEW computer. I remember when I tried to join a favorite server and couldn't connect. There were only two really, that I felt comfortable playing on. OD and AOD. I searched for a custom map alltalk server and found FP. I hadn't used my mic much before, but I knew I liked the alltalk atmosphere. It was amazing, because I could really focus on playing Your accents made it very easy to ignore you for quite some time. I realized at some point that we were speaking the same language, and that some sort of piss taking was happening. I would have probably gone away if I had understood you. But then I saw other people join, and they too had piss taken - and came back. I saw people from all over the world drop by - even some I knew. People seem to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. It really is more like friends getting together to play a game rather than trying to kill a bunch of strangers. I have made so many friends, and I really <3 you all for accepting me for who I am - a 12 year old american boy

Re: Bring the <3
It took me a good few months of jumping from a 24/7 2fort server (where I witnessed the night of a thousand pyros) to the saigns servers (getting raped by the people who pay for hax there). This was until one day I stumbled upon festers place. For once there were mics, people talking, people talking to each other!?!?
It went uphill from there and getting into the community, the kareoke and all of it is great. Even out of game, got a problem? Fester's seems to help no matter what. And because of the awesome people, servers, website, and the fact the slogan is 'Be here with Beer'.
I LOVE ( <3 ) FESTERSPLACE!

I've considered myself to be quite lucky because Fester's Place was only the 2nd server I had ever joined in my TF2 timeline.
There isn't anywhere else like it, FP has some of the nicest and most interesting people I've ever had the privelidge to get to know, and everyone has a good time guaranteed. No one takes themselves too seriously and people just focus on having a laugh. There are no strings, and we've got the crowning glory of having our very own BBloke who makes awesome stuff happen faster than shit off a shovel.
VIVA LA FP!

VIVA LA FP!

Happy to be here.

Re: Bring the <3
I actually started playing on the Karaoke Bar and had fun while doing it
then a few days later I found the Festersplace server and enjoyed it more. Agreed that when I started playing the regular guys antics made me laugh every time, so I kept coming back, and now its basically the server I play the most tf2 on
(Un)fortunately I have work now and cant stay as much as I would have before. Still when I play tf2 I always go back to festers place. Where the playas skillz are better than any other pub on the internet.
And since I havent played in a long time, my lack of skill is showing, and I kinda feel ashamed to play with you guys. But Ill get my skillz back like I did before.
Once you go to Fest you dnt go back.
Also I eventually joined the forums where I was convinced (in a good way mind you) to buy some games, probably bought more games in a month than on an entire year.
So I Thank the regulars from Festers PLace for making my stay as awesome as possible, and I hope I can provide as much fun as I was provided with to new people.
And this is my festers place experience ( thus far) in a nutshell.
If there is a festers Fest next year I will surely go and hope to meet you gentlemen,

Re: Bring the <3
I'm one of the lucky originals, coming from the depths of Nemesis. Nemesis was great and, for a while whilst I was there, some kick ass people (the vast majority of whom all now play here). However, it quickly degenerated and stopped being a community and started to be a 'slam the noobs' server by some of the highly skilled regs and admins (thankfully they aren't here).
Jase invited me over to TF2 where I met Fester and some of the other older regs, and I delighted in the all talk, custom maps, smoking, drinking, doesn't matter what skill level you are and general comeraderie. I've seen it grow from strength to strength and just continue to get better. Most importantly everyone who joins the community isn't just a player - they are a person. Good communities don't develop without good people and it's a testament to everone here that Festers is so popular.
I'm not on here as much as I used to be, but I get on when I can. That's important to me because I know that whenever I do I can always join a game where people know who I am and I know they are people with whom I can enjoy a game, or a laugh, or - and this is most of the time - both.
I think I'm welling up now
