Snow in the US

plus landlines usually are underground and the snow does not affect them at all.

The weight of the snow did take out the roof of a hanger at Dulles airport.
It is neat to experience this once in a lifetime, but that's it. Twice in one winter though? We had this around christmas-time. We already have another winter storm warning for tomorrow-another 5 inches expected. It's been dubbed "snowmageddon" and "snowpocalypse"

Canada had a bad storm some time back. Terrible snow but the worse was the freezing rain. Even though it was rain it was cold enough to freeze on contact with anything. Power lines were crippled due to the extra weight of the ice among other things. There was a prog on TV a little while back.. Awesome but so deadly.

lol Mountie, I saw that photo, that's a coastal storm. Ice storms are a bitch. The new storm they are saying is coming keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'm trapped.
