Well, we all suspected the game to grow bigger with leveled weapons and the knowledge we can some day give them to other players.
Then we found 2 new slots for the characters in their loadout setup.
I did not get a hat before and my halo is lvl 1 but I guess there will be high lvl hats too and I am sure, sooner or later the lvl will make a difference and it might turn out to be totally unbalanced.
So would it be right to have a program that gives you all the lvl 100 stuff?
I think it would since we all know there will be more features / bugs soon.

I agree with you jased, drunkenf00l shouldn't have been given a special weapon but maybe it's not so overpowered after all ...I don't know
I think it might after all be not as powerful as the combined weapons or whatever we are going to be able to make in the future.

i've been laughing hardcore at the entire situation, to be quite honest. Sure, it's a broken drop system, but it's not up to us to change it. Wether we like it or not, it's up to the makers of the game. If a thied-party program shows up to change things, you have to remember that this is not something developed by the guys who made the game. All things considered, you use third party programs at your own risk. You must understand there might be consequences. Get informed. Maybe if you sent a mail to the support team asking if it's alright, you might've avoided all this.

Technicaly there were a number of people that done what you said and guess what Valve said nothing, so like normal, people used something that wasnt clarified.

What I found funny was the fact that they said it was only 4% effected but by the look of things they couldnt even get the percentage right, and the fact that people that used the idle program for retardedly short time at the very beginning and never used it again got thrown into the same group just because an item from the program managed to stay in their inventory (with the 1712379102378 duplicates from playing normally).

That's not really an excuse man.
And considering their previous stance on using other programs to get stuff, you should have really expected it.
(Didn't this all happen a few months ago when people used a program to get all the unlocks with doing the achievements?)

i accept it was my choice but if they banned us for a week or 2 like they did with the achievment thing you mentioned i think it would have been better. Hell they would have sold more games to the die hard players that couldent do without there tf2 fix.

Yeah, I guess that would have been a better way of dealing with it, but I'd say Valve reckoned the easiest way to punish the Hat Whores was to give a hat to those who obviously don't care as much!

Also, considering that most of the players complaining about it are just proving themselves to be the whiney little bitches we always knew they were, I'm kinda liking Valves approach more and more!

Now, if they'll just get rid of all the silly levelled weapons, so we can get back to a game that's all about skill and teamwork, and not supercharged items, I'll be a much happier eagle!
Don't they know that most of the core players would much rather a new well balanced map to all these idiotic weapons and hats?
