Devil May Cry series
Devil May Cry series
I've gotten back into playing the Devil May Cry games as of late, and was wondering if anyone else here plays/ed them? I know the Story and Characters are enough to make someone want to rip their eyes from the sockets, but if there is one game out there that makes me feel like more of a badass than anything, it's the Devil May Cry games.
Surely I'm not the only one who gets a thrill of those just plain silly SSS combos?

Re: Devil May Cry series
It's well worth it man
Nero is a bitch to get the moveset right with his new trigger system but Dante is better than back in DMC1 with all of these new weapons and being able to swap styles on the fly.

I have DMC 1 to 3. Passed the first two, when i got to the third one I was missing my right thumb, alas it was vaporised during the last two games.

Re: Devil May Cry series
Only played through the 4th game of the series. I like a good hack&slash game as much as the next guy, but I'm no demented bot like the guys in the vid. It was a fun game - lots of senseless violence and eye candy, and with 7 difficulty settings it took a while to thoroughly beat.
Re: Devil May Cry series
I personally enjoyed it a lot more than DMC3.
DMC1 was the original, and was great fun, if a little sparce by comparison to the sequels. DMC2 had terrible movesets for Dante and that horrific bonus character, and enemies were just punching bags. It's arguably the worst in the series.
DMC3 had that screw up with the difficulty settings, meaning Normal mode was Hard mode for Americans and Europeans. Even on Easy mode the game was rediculously tough, and forced you to use the guns a helluva lot more than you would in the other games, swords was only really for 1v1 combat and finishing moves, unless you learned off every enemy moveset and predicted all their attacks and how to dodge every one of them through air canceling.
DMC4 brought along all the good parts of 3 and meshed them together with 1 and 2 and created the best game so far IMO
Dante is so much fun to play as when you get all of his weapons and styles. Nero was a welcome addition because he does not stray too far from Dante in genereal, but has a few different tweaks I'd say they simply couldn't fit onto Dante so gave them to a new character. He has a new "trigger" system where you tap the left bumper after an attack to add a power boost to your next attack, but meaning you would need to be very good at timing every attack if you wanted consistant power.
Dante has a more varied and much faster playstyle, albiet a little weaker than Nero arguably.
It's a helluvalot of fun, but don't bother dishing out the cash if you didn't like any of the others.

Re: Devil May Cry series
I have the previous ones 1 tru 3, only one left to get to the end is 3, because when I play that game my right thumb gets demolished from shooting the friggin pistols.
I enjoyed the demo, if the games is as good\better than the demo I might get it on the ps3....
