One of the next big HL2 mods as of late has arrived on the net, but not on steam cause it gotta go through that month or so of slooooow Valve checks. Not a bad looking game though, I'm just downloading it myself now.

..the sad thing about mods is, there are not enough players because there are too many mods ..most of them are not innovative enough (all the "oh yeah another shooter" types) and even if they are, people don't appreciate the work that goes into making a mod and most mods die or have a regular amount of about 30 players.

- Insect Infestation (one of the earliest hl2 mods)
- Fistful of Frags
- HL2 wars ...or was it just HL wars (C&C style)
- and all the mods you wanted to play but there were just not enough players

im still waiting for sven co op to arrive for hl2 as synergy is alryt but it doesnt have lightsabers or the ability to jump high into the air.
(you could get it as a skin replacemnt on one of the sven co op servers instead of a crowbar)

well, there was one pretty cool, it was called zombie panic source. There were shitloads of players, and it was very fun, and had better atmosphere than left 4 dead. more scary, and you actually had to scavenge for bullets and such, and tradem with other players and stuff...

This was a pre L4D Mod, so it was pretty neat.

I've got zombie panic source but while there is loads of players, I find the game boring

also when one of my steam friends if playing a free game I usally get it

Had that with the old HL1 mod, Jailbreak.. reviews sounded good but by the time I got around to installing it there weren't enough players.

I don't think sven-coop 2 will ever make it into the light ....any hl2 mod is pratically dead.

Zombie Panic Source ....and the other zombie mod were the reason I didn't buy l4d when it came out.
I was kinda pissed seeing valve "stealing" a pretty good concept and dumping yet another potential hl2 mod.
It is a bit like BF2142 which came out half a year after BF2.
Then I bought Crysis and was so fucking disappointed by it that I will not buy any EA game for a long time.

I liked Zombie Panic but hated the terrain, walk into anything and your fucked lol. Like trying to jump over something u go inside it then over it its wierd
