Ah man, they were impossible games!
I defy anyone who says they beat either Monky 1 or 2, purely on their own and without any help from friends of those magazine guides!
sure soem of the clues were so off the wall that you'd have to be completely insane to work them out!

Exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!
I believe I found out the solution to that on Gamesmaster on Ch4 (another shout out to you old school gamers)

Ahhh Gamesmaster. Patrick Moore and that Scottish guy in the bad trousers, followed by the way too enthusiastic Dexter Fletcher. I used to love the Golden Joystick contests
It was an excellent show, and had some great industry people on it commentating on the matches!
sure it was the only game show for years, until ITV went and m,ade one that was really dodgy with Violet Berlin and that guy who wasn't Philip Schofield!
Yeah it's a shame that there aren't really any really good game based TV shows. Anyone heard anything about whether Game Damage is going to get made? There is no news on Yahtzees website. I thought the pilot (if a little flawed in some ways) was pretty good for a low budget idea
I had an a500 that I got for a tenner at a car boot sale as my first computer, this was when I was maybe 11 so I didn't have much interest in using it to work on...
I remember playing Settlers, the crash test dummy game, worms, and most importantly *hours* on CANNON FODDER
I still have my boxed copy at home, you needed to quote a word from the manual from page x paragraph y in order to boot it up to prove you bought the game
OOooohhhh.. cannon fodder... "never been so much fun! WAR!"
Brill game... I could just about make it past the Skidu level. I've got nearly 3gb of amiga roms sitting on my hdd. The A500 with the extra mem and extra floppy drive was a gem. Mine may still be within the family realm (fingers crossed).

Yup Nova alot of Amiga games were done that way my most memorable one was Frontier Elite which had a HUGE manual spend 2 hours loading up the 4 floppy disks then enter some random line.. i miss my Amiga
anyway sry Monkey Island YAY!!!
EDIT: what about the classic road rash? get your chain out and hit that guy off his bike!!! humm emulates are indeed needed
