Right so, on Chaos this evening some of you might have heard me freaking out a little bit about the bizarre things I was seeing.

Well, here are the pics.

Now the question is.......
Was it a random PC glitch?
Some demon/poltergeist type thingy?
Something deliberate?
Just the Matrix acting up again?

Freaky textures and all. Dodgy file maybe?

Did you try restarting etc. Did it fix it? Worst case scenario you'll have to dl the game again. Maybe?

Oh it was only that one time!

And it happened mid map!

It was bizarre, but a bit freaky, especially the way pyro flames seemed to cast a shadow of writing on the ground!

I know, I can be a bit of a paranoid freak at times, but I was kinda worried that someone was trying to send me subliminal messages....you know, maybe trying to force me to do something I didn't want to do, like kill someone.....or buy the new U2 album!

I'm sure Johnimus mentioned it happened to him last night. Do you think it could be related to the server changes yesterday to try and reduce the crashes?

I have no idea at all Bbloke! I'd like to hear if these pics are similar to Johnimus' experience though!

I'm not the most technically adept person on the server, so unfortunately, I haven't a clue about what could have caused it. Like, I could totally get that all the textures could get mixed up, but I really don't understand why that would cause random writing to appear in the middle of the screen, or why it would replacce some of the BONKs with numbers.
It's not like it was replacing an object that was already there, you know? Unless of course there is hidden writing that flashes up on screen while you are playing!!!!

Just before it happened, my game went funny, and stuttered for about a minute. At first I thought that Itunes was trying to update or somethinh but there was nothing else going on and I never popped back to the Desktop (as would usually happen in such a case).

I then thought that perhaps the fix the lads loaded up on the server was a big joke or something that caused random players to have these whacky visuals, but again, I'm really not the person to work out if that's the case!

Did you try to verify the game integrity from steam?

I have seen this a few times...

It seems to have happened to me after a massive lag spike my Internet was the main cause and when you come back from the lag, your textures get all messed up.. a simple restart of game will sort it out again if it happens

LOL.. yeah but only to stay alive. That was a gun run on the heavy with Lazy as medic. I must remember to switch on my spy radar on Chaos though.. bloody map.. they run a little riot and ammo seemed in short supply.
