Only if you view things through steam.
I only use it for launching games and chatting with friends.
And before someone points it out, I don't read the news, updates or shop.
BBloke:
I don't know how into web design you are but IE doesn't interpret pages properly. Mainly css issues. If the page was complient would it not please 100% of the people? Work just fine in IE and all other browsers too?

Re: Radio Fester
it wont work in tf2. tf2 uses ie, live with itindivisible wrote:I know I'm new and don't carry much weight but I'm one of the 0.001/10%. I don't use WMP or IE. Both are resourse hogs and the main targets in their respective software fields to attacks. I don't and won't use them. What's wrong with having an xhtml compliant page?

mooted slightly by the latest steam update that allows web browsing from within the game overlay, so web browsing is not limited to enabled game servers, but still uses ie, as does steam itself(store, community are rendered w/ ie, regardless of def. browser settings)
We've moved away from fancy-dan html motd pages because people w/ broken/neglected ie installs were getting game crashes on join. Simple fix - have working ie, even if you dont use it. But as I said, not all are techies, so simpler fix was to go back to plain text motd.
I know it's far from ideal or ooohwhizzbang, but I just think for ingame use, simple known ie friendly methods should be used. If it's just for standalone browser or os agnostic use, go wild!!

Enough to have felt the wrath of IE6 to 7 and now to 8 just as much as FF1.5 to FF2 and FF3indivisible wrote: BBloke:

Great to see a lot of discussion of the technical side happening, as with all these things there are bound to be teething problems but our collected intellect shall overcome!
So who's up for putting on a live show for us?
Even that spidermouse has gotta be better at mixing than me!

I don't know if the quality is good enough but here's a drum 'n bass thingy I did a few years back while teaching myself how to use Reason. Feel free to use it if its not too sucky.

Just saw this!
Any chance of rooting out/redo-ing "The Sun Always Shines on Dintbo"?
Man, perhaps it's finally the time for the LazyEagle to dust off his sampling hat....................
Re: Radio Fester
Tbh, I don't think the front end matters that much, simplistic works well - you see it for a matter of seconds then spend hours playing TF2. Do you remember the front end compared to the awesome kills (or deaths) you pull up? No, the less obtrusive the betterDel wrote:I know it's far from ideal or ooohwhizzbang, but I just think for ingame use, simple known ie friendly methods should be used.
