So Bbloke, are you saying that if you assume that your OS is also contributing to that 50% usage, and therefore of the 100% of 1 cpu, it might actually be preferable to set Steam and TF2 to the second cpu so at least it has that one all to itself?
Re: I got the power!
Yes. In simple terms. I have tried this and to be honest not seen any benefit. This was during my flying days. When I'd have program like: Teamspeak, TrackIR, Hyperlobby, JoyToKey on one CPU and the game on the more redundant second CPU. It was an effort to reduce stutters. Couldn't see any difference to be honest.
Re: I got the power!
Is that Why on the 4th CPU or why to Symantec. If its the latter then I'm with you on that... McAfee, Norton, Symantec are the kinds of programs to stay clear of.Jonnywhy wrote:WHY? WHY??[U2OP] Willy wrote:...and Symantec on the 4th LMAO.

Symantec came into our uni to try and get students in our dept to do a year's placement with them, they were giving away free copies of Norton and in 3 weeks only 1 person took a copy!

I get it free though my job, thats only why. I wouldnt if I was paying for it. Plus the 4 core thing with software I said was a joke. Was only kidding. Anywho, sometime the lingo they use confuses me. I'm a network guy so if you speak network lingo I'd get it and know I more about that then Computers. I've also just entered the world of Multi-Processing so I'm just a noob at it. Dont get me wrong though, I'm not a noob at computers.

Re: I got the power!
I tried this tonight and it actually made a difference especially when I was broadcasting on Xfire. I averaged 75 FPS while broadcasting when I use to only average around 45 FPS. Also I hit close to the 200ths when I'm not broadcasting. Also TF2 Stayed Stable. Anyone else have luck with this???Fester wrote:But its .... mat_queue_mode 2
