As it stands, no classes get bonus points, but the sniper gets them. Each class gets it's kill points, incl sniper. This is how you should be playing anyway imo. Your team cares not if the heavy/medic combo was taken out with headshots or bodyshots, the fact that they were taken out is all that matters. It might matter to the sniper, but it's not Me Fortress 2.

The stats should be secondary to your gameplay. If you are playing primarily for the stats you are Doing It Wrong(tm)

I was under the impression spies got bonus points for a back stab? Is that not correct?

The thing about the soldier I entirely disagree with as it is a point taken out of context. It's akin to a sniper taking a moving headshot that takes skill and a soldier simply spamming an area which takes no skill, the only difference here is the headshot takes more skill and can be quantified as such. Maybe there should be a bonus point for a flying soldier achieving a kill? (Obviously valve would have to make the change though).

I don't personally stat whore hence my lack of achievements.

The fully charged headshot guarantee's a kill but takes more skill, is a lot harder to pull off and if you don't it's a wasted shot and opportunity. A body shot doesn't hence the reason the sniper should prefer headshots to body shots.

Removing the bonus point is a nonsensical idea in my opinion.

Aaah snipers with their spamming headshots :D
Situation is now that the bonus (+1) for HS is registered twice.
My post earlier summarizes my point of view i.e. all classes should be able to advance equally in the rank, assigning fair bonusses where needed ;)
Or : compensating slower rankmoving classes like spy/sniper by granting a bonus.

Good points made by all, and i'll support them, especially klink's idea of progressing equally.

As much as i am loathe to relinquish my headshot bonus i aggree it's more fair.

The scout should get a bonus for every pistol kill, you have any idea how hard it is to take someone out with it?

spies get a bonus point on servers where hlstats works properly!
I think soldier/spam soldier/skilledprediction is akin to sniper/camp sniper/skilledheadshotonthemove. No way to tell thru stats what was a sitter and what was awesome skillz, so why reward?
But fekkit, I will just go with the thoughts of the masses, if the majority says doublebonus for sniper, so be it

Yeah, the idea of twiddling the figures was to kind of even things up. Good point on the pistol kill, same for the engie pistol.

I'm with you Del, no reason Snipers should get more points than anyone else for doing equal or less.

Get closer to someone with the pistol, a pistol clip does 200 dmge max, without crits
if you're close enough. ;)

yeah, if I play Engie and arn't drunk or have one of those days where you can aim worth shit I usually use the Pistol cause its more precise and has better range than the shot-gun.
I mean, it's all windy stairs. I'm not being funny.

I remember on the old 2Fort server all the weapons had points modifiers (Rockets were 1.6 I think), up to 3 for the medi gun and melee weapons, and down to 0.7 for sentries, or something like that. That worked pretty well
