I agree when you say that the hat system makes you diversify classes ...

But I also believe the Random Drop System also has a mind of it´s own, just like AI Director from L4D.

One fine example of this, is that I accidentally deleted all my kritzkriegs last week... I´ve been getting items more or so regularly, but never a kritzkrieg again...

Also I don´t have a single hat....


I play all the classes when they are needed with the exception of the solly which I totally can´t stand... Hell I even press that Random button every now and again

Now that I think of it, I had found the medic's Pickelhaube soon after I stopped playing as spy and demo and started playing as pyro religiously instead. Then again, it could all just be a coincidence.

Lol, it's just guessing when the enemy attacks and a truck load of luck. At least that's how I get most of my reflect kills anyway...


I'll trade an arm and a leg for the Pyro's firefighter helmet or the Demoman's Glengary Bonnet when the trading system is released. Anyone fancy an extra couple of limbs?

The item dropper is a bit of bollocks alright. MediC had two days on the run of receiving multiple items. The other night the only weapon that was given out was the Axtinguisher... freaky!!

I think the reason for Medic getting them though was that he was just logging in after being in the Idle Farm for a while.

SERIOUSLY though there will hopefully never be any other way than complete random chance to get a hat, like playing more or getting so many points as this will just cause "grinding fo hats"
and if everyone has a hat then nobody will give two shits anyway
