Not quite! Having vertigo is one thing and getting over being high up is a matter of understanding you are safe. Gravity is the bitch that makes sure when you aren't safe then you are in trouble. Weird I know but I've no problem feeling secure with the right equipment. I did a little rock climbing a few years back and never had trouble going up. Although there was no need to come down the same way.
I visited a friend in San Francisco a few years back and we had a skydive all planned but the weather wouldn't allow it. I'd probably be so keen to jump I'd forget something vital.. like your tandem partner who has the chute!
