The dutch fastfood Bible

Why you should eat dutch fastfood when stoned and in Holland

** I'm still working on the food post, the thing is, it makes me hungry so i can't add too many snacks a time before feeling like a little african kid ;) **

Febo FTW!
Since all of you stoners are coming to holland, i must properly inform you about the great dutch fastfood you can grab out of the wall. There a lots of kebab en shoarma places (and many other mediterranean friends) but nothing tastes like the true dutch deepfried snacks when you're blazed of your ass!

The different types of snacks:

1. De Kroket [crow-cat] :

De kroket is what this whole post started, i was playing one afternoon @ festers place and a dutch guy had a spray of a kroket. The best known deep fried dutch snack! most of you non integrated to holland (using g. wilders' words) didn't know what it was. And so, since you all are coming to my lovely country (don't get me wrong, i'm no nationalist ;) ) i thaught i should properly educate you about the dutch deep fry food us dutchies seem to love so well. But not to get off topic!
The kroket has a crispy crust, with a nice soft filling mostly made out of beef, not of crows and cats what the phonetical spelling suggest. the belgiums also have this snack, bust mostly the potato and shrimp sorts.

Flavours:
- beef
- calf
- cheese
- vegtables
- potato (yeah, us dutchies really love them!)
- shrimp
- and many more!

usual sauces:
- mustard (editors choice)
- mayonnaise
- curry

Relatives:
- bitterballen [Bitter-bawlun]: same as a kroket, only rolled to little balls instead of long sticks

2. De Frikandel [freak-un-dell] :

The frikandel has suffered a lot of urban legends, it should consist of weird animal bodyparts like eyeballs, brains, skin, their noble parts, udders, etc.
Non of this is true however, the dutch butchers felt threatened by the upcoming frikandel in the late 60's so they made this story up to stop the loss of clients buying meat. This snack is actually made out of chickenmeat (+/- 80%), beef and pork(less than 5%). it tastes like a soft spiced sausage, but when adding the right sauces makes it an taste orgy of the highest kind (just one male, rest female, or lesbian if you like ;) ) in your mouth.

Usual sauces:
- Mayonnaisse
- Curry
- Speciaal [just like special but with a longer A] : mixture of curry mayonnaise and little pieces of union. (editors choice)

Relatives:
- Viandel [vee-un-dell] : similar to the frikandel only with a thicker crust.

3. De Kaassouffle [ka's-souffle]

This is exactly what is says, a deep fried souffle of cheese, tastes good with sauce but nut without sauce IMO.
The most common dutch way to eat this snack is on a bread with satesauce. a very popular choice for the vegetarians.
WATCH OUT! this snack can contain an extremely hot cheese filling when just deep fried, unlike most snacks.

Usual sauces:
- Sate sauce (editors choice)
- curry
- ketchup
- of course..... Mayonnaise

Relatives:
- Ham Kaas souffle: the same snack only with added pork, mostly orange of color instead of yellow

I've never been brave enough to eat from the wall.
Same way I try to stay away from restaurants with pictures of the food outside....

Yeah, usually the pictures scare you away instead of attracting customers cause 90% of the time its a dish that just doesn't look good when amateurs take the pictures.
I mean, it's all windy stairs. I'm not being funny.
