Does anyone else hate their job?

I'm on a late shift (2 till about 11) on a Friday, which sucks enough. But i've got to screw about 100 litle untis onto jigs so they can be tested. I am so fucking bored. This was well worth the 3 years of college so I can screw tiny screws into a block of metal. Yay me

Well let's see. Mondays off. No work on mondays whatsoever. Wednesday afternoons off, finish at 12. Starting at 10am on the other three days and finishing at 4pm with usually at least two free hours in that time. Tuesday finishes at 5. Life is hard

I remember college. Was trhe same for me. Loads of time off. It was great.

Just give it a few years. Then you'll realise that everything you have been learning and researching and putting into essays and exams is useless.

But dont stop studying. Someone may make it and have a job they like!

167 working days a year yet I get paid all year round. 22 hours (max) a week.

Whaaaat. I start 9am every day, mondays finish at 6, tuesdays, thursdays and fridays finish at 5. 1 bright spot: Wed 9-11am.

How'd you get off so lightly?

I get paid well. I'm pushing 27k if you include overtime adn shift allowance. It just sucks.

I dont just screw things into jigs. I build hybrid units that fit onto satellites.

Tiny chips in a metal package (usually gold plated aluminium, sometimes ceeramic) that are all connect up inside with gold wires 1 thousand of an inch think.

Souinds really interesting but its basically glueing and sticking. Just on a very tiny level.

I absolutely fucking hate my job.. all 5 of em and that's in just one bloody company. To keep the green rolling I moonlight from time to time which consumes my weekends and gives me some light at the end of the tunnel.

I get some perks and it can be free and easy but, oh boy do I work for a bunch of idiots. No ordinary idiots.. bu university trained ones. Fucking retards. Couldn't find their arse if their hands were already on it!!!

The overall pay sucks big time and to think over the last year I've had to turn jobs down due to unforeseen finiancial troubles that are looking worse now the credit crunch is on.
