Rocket Jump Script

I was raped on the bball court by exfane a couple of weeks ago, and after many failed rocket jump attempts, he said i could do with a script. I finally looked into it today and got one which I've just tested out. Now I have two questions for you clever people:

1. Is this considered a hack. It does give you a perfect rocket jump every time, so is it cheating, cos I don't wanna be no cheat.
2. At the moment I have it bound to my mouse wheel button, as I don't use this for anything else. The problem is it can lead to changing weapons accidentally. Can you disable the wheel aspect of the mouse wheel, but still keep the button aspect, if ya know what I mean.

For anyone interested in trying it out, i got it here:

And for instructions on how to install it:

Odd 1 to call m8 i dont know a lot about scripts.
But i personally would say its an unfair advantage, Say both me and you jump over a wall you been blue me red ,With a perfect rocket jump do you loose less health than me not doing a perfect 1. So this i would say is wrong.
AND IF YOU USE IT YOUR A HACKING BASTARD lol ;) .

as i said i dont understand these script things so maybe im wrong

I'm a durty cheating hacking bastard :o

I dont use this space to jump mallarkey, I'm mouse button2 to jump, have been for evaar, so rocketjump for me is kinda easydoors, lookdownish, press both mouse buttons.

But I do have a rocket jump script!
It's only a baby one, but if I want extra height, I'll toggle it, (off by default)

Code: Select all

//toggle Highjump
alias "+jumpeh" "+jump; +duck"
alias "-jumpeh" "-duck; -jump"
bind DOWNARROW togglejhon
alias togglejhon "bind MOUSE2 +jumpeh; bind DOWNARROW togglejhoff; developer 1; echo rjon; developer 0"
alias togglejhoff "bind MOUSE2 +jump; bind DOWNARROW togglejhon; developer 1; echo rjoff; developer 0"
hmm, maybe I should put in some waits for extra extra height. Anyway, DOWNARROW(I'm a leftie, down is beside my thumb!) toggles bigjump on/off, but as I say I only use it for those hard to reach back teeth, normally it's down to me mashing my mouse.

Is it cheating?
Some comps allow these kind of scripts, some dont. rocketjump scripts may be allowed where as other jumping scripts may be expressly forbidden.
In any event, we aint no competition zone, so I say fairdinkum.

There's the argument that the variables are available to every player and those with a better knowledge of them are only making better use of the equipment available to them, like any sport, eke out the most that you can for your own benefit. But then why are some scripts ok and others not? (auto sticky detonate or auto scout dbl jump for example)

In any event, I dont see the harm of a rj script, the person using it can still fuckup by not looking at the right angle or going too high and taking more falling damage than intended. I have a toggle cos most of the time I don't want it on

Hmm I guess you could disable fast weapon switching. Or go into controll options and change the keys for changing weapons up and down.

you will all burn in hell!
Now this may not sound that bad at first.. but don't forget the fact that they use macs down there, exclusively.

no really though, if I played soldier regularly then maybe I'd do it too.. although its a lot cooler being able to do it right on your own.

Code: Select all

unbind "MWHEELUP"
unbind "MWHEELDOWN"
will assign the mousewheel to diddlysquat

It's an interesting question and one that I am not entirely sure about.

I would air on the side of saying it shouldn't be allowed as automating movements do give that person an advantage, however on the flip side, is it really such a bad thing to do?

I don't personally use any scripts but then if it's just automating a movement and not an action i.e. firing a weapon at another player does it give such an advantage that it should be banned? I don't think so.

I think I have just convinced myself it's ok! lol!

I have never been a fan of scripts, a lot of CS:S players use them to buy weapons 'automatically' etc... which i guess in that circumstance is fine but in my opinion no scripts should be used for gameplay unless used for fun.

Isnt it part of the game the learn yourself and get better without having 'perfect' jumps everytime etc? It's bordering on cheating say in clan/ serious matches but I guess it will be ok/ accepted on Festers... I dont find a problem with it, unless I get repeatedly 0wn on 2fort balcony.
