Are you hardcore enough?

Right, a game which I call Cat Mario (I have no idea what it's name in japanese is) is possibly the most fiendishly evil game I have ever experienced.
I finished the game, all 5 (might have been 6) levels... my number of lives at the end was around -400.
I'm not going to link to a video as it'll give away some tricks, but try it!
