Japanese Films.

Post by BBloke » Mon Aug 18, 2008 2:10 am

It's late. I'm not that tired and I'm TV channel hopping. What do I find? Well not a fat lot but wait a minute. Here's something - "One Missed Call". Ah you may be saying! I've heard of that. Quite likely you have as it's recently been released and not a bad film if you wish to switch off and just keep your brain cells ticking over.

The best thing is that this version is the original japanese version and I must say they sure know how to do the job right. None of that mambo pamby hollywood shitting drivel where they sit around a table and butcher a well written script and then direct the worse remake in living history.

I watched the original The Ring before I saw the monstrosity that was the US release. I don't scare easily.. if at all but that one had me on edge when I next turned on the TV. As for the american version... what a load of shite!!! Whilst I'm on it... why oh why did they put the fucking horses in it and then have the guts to make a bloody sequel!!!!

When it comes down to it the best horror or scarey movies are the ones that have little to them in the context of blood and guts but get into your head and leave you thinking rather than reaching for the cushion to head the TV from view.

I don't consider myself to be one for scaring easily, but the original Ring had me genuinely freaked out.
The japanese do tension very, very well.

Japanese Godzilla films, and to a lesser extent Gamera Guardian of The Universe. All badly dubbed into English with hilarious results.

Genius!

LMAO!! Not exactly the same things as The Ring but I see your point :)

I'm going to start a campaign to bring back Godzilla the cartoon!

I find the dead or alive movies (not that American crap) strange, but worth a watch
I mean, it's all windy stairs. I'm not being funny.
