Mother Nature
I get a lot of crazy weather here, was wondering about what kinds of natural phenomena yall have to deal with.
Don't know if any of you heard of the storm system that ripped through a large part of USA, but plenty on youtube to look at-here's one. Storm went through Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virgina, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. 62 Tornadoes touched down in North Carolina ALONE.

Makes me think of this:

On a serious note, that's pretty awesome (as in, a display of the awesome power of nature, not that it's cool).
The worst weather I've ever been in was probably just a normal thunderstorm. We are on the top of a hill and our house has been hit by lightning several times. Once it hit the transformer on the top of a telephone pole right outside the house, splitting it down the middle and setting fire to the cooling fluid inside (and destroying our fridge, TV, computer and washing machine with a power spike). The transformer going down knocked out power for the surrounding villages. We had to have the environmental health agency inspect the area where the coolant leaked as we have animals in that field. The funny thing was that this was the equivalent of my prom night, so I had to have a cold bath instead of a hot shower before going.
Oh, we also once had a "mini tornado" that ripped a bunch of tiles off of somebody's roof...
Nothing on that scale though!

I'm glad we don't have tornados here. We get some high wind speeds and floodings every now and then.

Re: Mother Nature
Ya, i get it, yall don't have tornadoes. But what about hail? Lightning? THUNDER? Gotta be something. Crazy video Dream-I would have moved my car long before they did.
Re: Mother Nature
oh of course we got hail and lightning, not like it's in Kansas though, it comes occasionally.
April is a good month for that, said to be the month with the most erratic weather patterns.
When I was a kid we had about 4 inches of snow and some hail around this time of the year, easter.
Heavy rain sometimes causes mudslides, they go hand in hand with the floodings.
Germany has become somewhat of a tornado area. They get high wind speeds every year now.
Floodings have also increased there, I think they have gotten more since 2002. That's when it started to increase here. Since then we have them every year. Europe has been hit by heavy rainfall over the past years.
