everytime i see and owl turn its head around damn near all the way i cant help but expect to hear some demonic voice like in the exercist

It's called a Southern White Faced Scops owl, native to South Africa.

Apparently the owl is trying to resemble/mimic a tree branch in an attempt to camoflage itself. Ingenious.

It's fucked up but amazing.
