And Johnimus as I have to shout into the mic most of the time, I've also experienced what you mention above.
Of course, my better half likes to take the piss out of what she hears aswell!

I dont need a new mic, i have 3 or more mics, all of which I've been told work perfectly at one time or another.
What i need is a soundcard, because TF2 seems to have killed my good auld SB audigy 1(How software kill hardware i dunno, but it was fine till TF2)! Im runnin off some shitbox €5.99 from maplin soundcard jobby.
But because of all the crap with soundcards changin(Vista, openAL, Eax) i am unsure what to buy. Any suggestions?

You Mic sounds like you might have it to lould. If you have the +20db boost turned on in the volume setting, try turning that off and turning the Mic volume all the way up. Other then that I'd say yeah it's a shitty card. Take a look at this card (If you have a PCI-E motherboard) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6829102019. Ofcource that site is an american site so you might have to do alittle searching. Or get a bluetooth headset
