GameCrush: Pay to Play Videogames with Women

Social service looks to connect its PlayDates with gamers... for a price.


A play date typically involves two infants. Via a newly launched social service, however, the term takes on a whole new meaning. At GameCrush, PlayDates are the women guys pay to play videogames with online.

Our friends at IGN recently took GameCrush, an 18-and-over site which goes live today, for a spin. They discovered roughly 1,200 PlayDates for gamers to choose from, meet, and play with while voice chatting on Xbox Live or video chatting in casual Flash games.


Of course, PlayDates come with a price. For $8.25, players get 500 GameCrush credits, which are good for a 10-minute Xbox Live game and voice chat or a six-minute Flash game and video chat. Just how adult does GameCrush get? IGN said nothing scandalous happened in its trial, but noted that PlayDates can set their mood to "flirty" or "dirty."

What goes on in that video chat is up to you and your PlayDate. GameCrush says it modeled its pricing structure after the cost of buying a girl a drink at a bar. In a bar, you're basically buying the opportunity to chat a girl up. GameCrush is hoping players will look at their service the same way.

gamers really do try to make themselves seem like normal people they really are and then shit like this crops up to make people think they are still a bunch of desperate losers.

I hope this business idea fails hard, I really do.
