Yeah so steam announced in the update that brought piles o' hats and crits back this:

Added Propaganda contest winners' hats for First Place, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up

So I am wondering what item name John Freeman, designer of the awesome 3rd place poster chose, does anyone know?

Agreed. I was expecting something at least a little more exciting than a stack of hats. Nothing particularly wrong with the stack 'O hats, but I'd rather a Class based hat any day of the week (and by extension, a chosen Class based hat with the badge would have been nicer imo).
