TF2 Costume - The Spy
Ok so I'm going to my college ball aka M.A.D. Ball which is the music art and design ball.
It's basically like a second Halloween we don't go for a meal and we all dress up and drink instead. So i've decided upon the spy.
- Anywhere I can get a cheap pinstripe suit, I'm thinking charity shop prob
- a butterfly knife, fake preferably i dont want to kill someone
- other stuff the spy has
I'm gonna make a few masks like the spy has that'll be easy and I think i'll make some sappers and stick them to the walls and stuff, any ideas how to go about making them look sweet

Suit if you don't have one try a thrift/2nd hand shop.
As for the sappers.. easiest would be to print out a design and paste it on some small cardboard boxes. For attaching them to walls usw the double-sided tape from 3M, it works wonders ^^

I mean, it's all windy stairs. I'm not being funny.

If you are going to get a 2nd hand suit, or from some trift shop, try sowing in some straps (high up in the chest area). So you can just reach in and grab; knife; gun; cigarette case.
If you are handy with a soldering iron, make a working sapper; just a battery, capacitor, resistor and an old voltage meter.
Make the cigarette case. If you are a smoker, work your lighter into the case. That way you can smoke up in style. Put some LEDs in the interface of the Spytron 3000.
Oh and just a fun idea; since its an art/design ball. Make the Spymask out of plastic/whiteboard. Take a marker with. That way people can draw face/disguises on you.

Sounds like a blast... Charity shop for sure on the suit. I can't vouch for Irish shops but I know Asda are doing some freaky cheap suits!!!
It may be worth considering a plastic gun with a red end. A lot less conspiquous than a fake flick knife but I doubt it would matter!
You definitely need a lycra balaclava, old cigaretter case and a box of child sweet matches to flick at everyone. If you can't grab a balaclava then print your own disguises! http://www.ubercharged.net/2008/06/29/d ... spy-masks/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Oh yeah dont forget to do a lousy French accent!!

oooh ...the sapper looks awesome
Don't forget the gloves. Thin leather gloves or rubber gloves that suite the suit.
