The story:

"A friend sent me a link via steam which was supposed to be a gift by Nvidia. Following the link Í should have gotten 3 games of my choice for free. I was following the link and it connected me to a site which was exactly lookin like the Steam login site (with the funny creatures).
I was asked to login by typin in account name and password.
When I clicked on "login" a download window appeared askin me if I want to download a .rar-file named sumthing like "nvidiagift.rar".

I was wonderin about that way of gettin something for free and cancelled the operation. I didn´t click on "download"!
Shortly after doin this my steam told me I ain´t logged in and shall type in my account name and password again.
Doin this I get the reply that I´m logged in "elsewhere" which definitely isn´t true. I checked my mails and got 2 mails from steam that my password has been changed (19:00, germany). The last received mail (19:14, germany)"noreply@steampowered.com" gave a code to me and asked me to remember the answer to my personal verification question. I´m pretty sure I didn´t chose that question when I created my account."

That´s what I sent to the steam support team.

Ok, so I am having a different problem. When l4d2 was trying to install, all of my games went missing from my list. I sent in a ticket. The problem fixed itself. I made a note of that on the ticket. Some idiot at steam changed my password and never sent it to me. But anyway, Don...while I was looking on the forum as to why my games were missing I found a sticky about your problem. It's a scam. I would send steam a ticket, but be prepared to wait at least a day. At least I know I am not suffering alone.

Thx for the support guys.
But alrdy managed.
@Dharma - u seem to be right. Feckin hakkererz.
@Fester - nope I don´t think that there is any connection cos I was that stupid to follow a link from some buddy from my friends list. That connected me to a 1:1 steam site copy where I had to type in my acc name and password.
@jased - thx for the offer, mate but steam support was great again tho I only received automated messages but one. Alrdy fixed again. And yeah - I learned me lesson well, Sir.

:gun: stupid hakkaz

This happened to my friend a couple of years ago under the Premise of free games, Clone copy of steams website but with a slightly different URL. He logged in their and a while later his account was hacked. The hacker using his account was enticing others into the trap which im afraid a few others fell for it. He got his account back Eventually by sending steam his account details, secret question, Cd key etc. If you downloaded from their I suspect that's were your Trojan came from. I have heard about Nvidia giving away free steam games with their products so it's easily fell for. Toco preety much sums it up
