Torchwood

Any Torchwood fans out there? I really can't see how the current series is going to end tonight, but I'm really looking forwards to it! Another team member dead, but it's all good as long as Eve Myles is still there:

As someone who has been very very critical of Torchwood in the past, I have to say that I'm really enjoying this little miniseries!

I think the 5 episode arc really seems to suit the show more than the "monster of the week" format, and I hope Dr. Who takes note and gives us some good multi-episode stories in the next series.
(and yes, I know that there were a few good multi-episode stories, but years ago, there were very few standalone shows and all were at least 3 eps long)

Indeed, the longer format seems to suit it quite well, as you don't get that inevitability you usually get with shorter episodes where you can (to a certain extent) guess what's going to happen.

Well in my life I've seen about three episodes of doctor who, I know they've changed doctor now or something, but I really dont like the blonde girl, billie something?

Anyway, I've probably seen the same number of torchwood episodes, but I watched the one last night and quite enjoyed it, seems to be a bit more adult than the doctor who shows... although I had no idea how far through the story it is.

One thing that confused me, how come Captain Jack can't die?

So many questions...well here goes

Billie Piper was the doctor's assistant about 3 years ago, since they've had two more and currently there isn't an assistant (they are kinda changing it per episode atm)

Yeh, that was their intention, much darker themes (ha, imagine kids watching themselves being talked about and sacrificed to aliens during a family tea time at the weekend!)

Ah, now that's a good question if you've not seen Dr Who, he was brought back to life after being killed by daleks a few Doctor Who series back, but through the power of the Tardis (I think) Billie Piper brought him back to life and defeated the dalek army, subsequently jack has loads of this strange 'power' going through him which will always resurrect him. In fact, if you wanna do a bit of digging, look up the Face of Bo, as in one Doctor Who episode it was 'suggested' that this ancient being was Captain Jack who was older than the universe itself (think Marvin in Hitch hiker's guide).

I think it was more than suggested, they pretty much made it clear that he was the Face of Bo

Fair doos, I remember now, yeh they did. How did he die though, just weariness, or the power running out or something?

I was down in Cardiff bay yesterday and was disappointed to see it all in one piece...I saw it on torchwood it was on the news!

The main difference I see between Torchwood and Dr. Who. is the Torchwood writers got bored pretending Cardiff was London. Although this miniseries thing is pretty good.
Who's this Bloke guy?

He just fizzled away if I remember correctly.

How his head grew to be that large, I haven't a clue!

Well, it is John Barrowman...

Haha, you'd have thought he'd fizzle back!
