So in my area I was walking to buy electricity then BOOM! A fucking huge bang made me jump and my hears went fucky uppy for like 2 mins, then lots of smoke right near me was going up so I went a bit closer then another bang. I looked and a huge scrapyard was on fire with cars blowing up and loads of fire engines going right past me. Me being me, I shit myself and ran off

When I got home lots of people were looking at the smoke and I jumped on BBC like 2 hours later and they had put it on there. This was probably the most famous thing to happen in my area.
Unfortunately for you, I didnt get hurt

they must have gotten lost in the annals of time and only just found their target over 50 years later

Soldier's biography:
Though he wanted desperately to fight in World War 2, the Soldier was rejected from every branch of the U.S. military. Undaunted, he bought his own ticket to Europe. After arriving and finally locating Poland, the Soldier taught himself how to load and fire a variety of weapons before embarking on a Nazi killing spree for which he was awarded several medals that he designed and made himself.
His rampage ended immediately upon hearing about the end of the war in 1949.

[Factual] There were some soldiers who had been hiding in the forests somewhere during WW2, hiding from the enemy. Eventually they left the forest after several years and are told that the war finished 5 years previously. [/Factual]
This is a true story I believe, though I can't remember what forest it was, or the nationality of the troops.
