So over the last week or so I've very much gotten into playing medic. I used find it very frustrating, but I seem to have gotten slightly better at staying alive, which makes the whole thing a lot more enjoyable.

I know there are some great medics on the server, so does anyone have some good tips for being a better medic.

Some tips:

Don't be afraid to fall back if the enemy is pressing your position and it's obvious you can't win. Even if it means abandoning whoever you were healing. I think of it as saving my ubercharge rather than myself! Nothing more frustrating than having 85% uber ready then being dispatched.

Hang back round corners if you can to prevent the enemy firing on you.

Don't hang back away from the front line, it is where you are needed most. Heal all team members around you, don't just stick to one heavy. Keep as many people as possible on the front line alive for as long as possible.

Ubers: If deployed at the right time it can send the enemy team into panic, then your team can pick them off as they flail around trying to avoid it.

Two top tips:
Heal spies
Don't heal anybody who's shooting a boxing heavy

Don't be afraid to uber yourself to stay alive. If you are surrounded and about to die just pop it and run, it's better than having to wait to respawn and you'll be back healing people faster.
On the same note popping the uber too early is ten times better than too late :)
Communicate with the person you're ubering if possible, even if it's only to say "lets get the sentry on the left" or "spies around here".

Prioritise healing by situation. If you're defending with a large enemy force coming in keep the engys, demos/heavys and soliders alive. If you're attacking a defensive position you need to keep as many alive at on time to increase spam attrition, so top people up enough to keep them alive then move on. If you've just survived an attack and there is a group of team mates around you that need healing, heal the one who can protect you first, that way you'll have cover for when you heal the rest.

Good man for you bosco, medic's a great class. You got any of the unlocks yet?

I spent a lot of time playing medic when i had a bad ping and with playing medic spent a lot of time at the top of leader board.. 2 tips only.. never stop moving (harder for spies/snipers to get you) ... always be on the look out (you are a second pair of eyes to the person/persons you are healing)

its all about staying alive and to stay alive you need to stay as far back from the person you are healing as you can..

I really dont know why your asking for advice i am all ready hearing tails of Bosco's great Medic skills :D

First of all activate Snap healing. It's in the Multiplayer tab - Advanced - "Medic gun continues healing ....", if you haven't done so. That way you don't have to keep holding down the mouse button.

Everyone else may die in the meat grinder, you must not. Retreat when you are outnumbered or don't believe that your teammates protected you. Stick to those players that will actively protect you and don't forget to keep your fellow medics patched up.

Your Übercharge is yours alone. If you build it up, you can choose when and how to use it. If someone decides to throw a fit about it, a good measure is to let them die after being set on fire by a pyro.

Contrary to popular belief the Kritzkrieg is not useless and as a bonus it charges 25% faster than the regular charge. It's also spectacular to see when a soldier clears the tunnels on warpath with 1-2 crit rockets and sends half the other team back to the spawn room.

I set the option on the mediguns so, I don't have to hold the mousebutton while healing ...if you hold it while this option is activated you tend to heal a lot more people, actually everybody who's walking inf ront of you ...somehow

also, you need to learn german
