HD-DVD drive for 10eur??(Irl only)

apparently Gamestop and Xtravision are selling the xbox HD DVD drive with media center remote for 9.99
I dont have an optical drive, they are just too damned slow and awkward, but I might try grab one for that bit of occasional use. Maybe the sata/usb controller can be butchered into use for external hard drives. in any event, worth it for the remote?
