UK proxy servers.

Just wondering if anyone knew of any uk proxy servers that are stable and relatively fast, or at least a good place to find some. I don't have, nor do I intend on getting a tv, I use the delicious interweb for all my eye-crack needs. For the bigger shows I just dl them but services like 4od and the BBc iplayer are fantastic for someone in my position. 4od is available in Ireland and the UK, but the BBC one is only available in the UK. I've found a few in the past but they never last, or they're too slow to stream tv. Cheers

I have failed to find anything decent for using w/ the beeb.
I only want it for streaming 5live radio from time to time, but even still, cant find anything reliable.
If yer ok w/ the torrenting tho, I highly recommend
http://www.thebox.bz The best torrent site I have found for UK(and UK only) TV

Nice site del cheers. I have no problem with torrents other than speed. I use rapidshare. For the amount I dl its well worth paying for a premium account.
You can listen to bbc radio here, its just the tv that's blocked.

alas no
I use it to listen to F1 commentary, and due to licencing issuses, the broadcast cuts off when F1 comes on, zo that's why I needed a uk based proxy. 5live sports extra.
Thing is, I can get it on sky or freesat. Stupid.
fwiw, every torrent I have downloaded from thebox has maxed out my connection. Private torrent trackers > public trackers

Oh right, not a fan of F1 myself so didn't realise that. Dam for a sec I though I knew something about the net you didn't. Wishful thinking
I'll definitely check out those torrents so. I've only ever used public, and the speeds were terrible. I remember downloading a season of the wire once I think it took 6 or 7 days without stopping. Needless to say I wasn't gaming online at the time. Don't think that would work out too well for me now.

I use mininova.org for torrents and always sort the results by number of seeds. I've had some great download speeds hitting the 400kb/s+ pretty consistently. I've seen my max hit 1mb+
If its new it tends to be catalogue and readily available.

http://www.eztv.it for yankee tv, if it's on that site, you know it's good quality. Most of the torrents are hosted on mininova, EZTV have an account there. That too is v good for getting fresh telly
http://www.rlslog.net for all kinds of scene release news, easily sortable by category
(lots of rapidshare shit in the comments, if that's yer thang)

eztv is win for tv torrents however, and they do carry a lot of uk shows. There are better sites for uk tv torrents, the only ones I know are full however.

As you'd expect in this complicated world of regions and rights, you need a UK IP address to setup an account on TVCatchup. However we have heard about a little experiment where an account was setup here in the UK, then the details were passed on to a user in the USA who was then able to login and use the service!
