Dont worry dharma, I did actually go to an american freinds 4th of july bbq this year.

Its not about you, or your country. I just don't like patriotism...

I have never witnessed it do anything but make people feel superior other others or insight violence.
I see it as a major cause of ignorance, I especially hate the way that fox news or rupert murdoch use it to brainwash people into accepting tighter controls on our freedoms in the name of "protecting us"

I'm not talking about stupid republicans. Patriotism is the blind love of your own country.
It causes issues in America, Britain, France, Israel, pretty much anywhere.
I have never seen any good come of it.
If someone asked me if I was proud to be British, I would probably say no.
we have a history in the slave trade. we brutally killed and wiped out many indigenous peoples, from the Americas to Africa to Australia, because they were "savages".
There is records of us taking Australian aboriginal babies from the concentration camp we put them in.
then our couragous troops would bury them up to their shoulders, and proceed to smash their heads off to use as polo balls.

My local Chinese does a mean chicken satay. They changes it a little recently. One of the big changs was the inclusion of pineapple. Presonnaly I can't stand pineapple in savouy dishes (most definitely including pizza). Still tastes dam fine though. Dam fine.
