I once wanted to visit the abbey where they brew chimay, so me and a couple of friends planned a trip, week there in a chalet ( wooden cabin ) on a hill in the forest etc etc. we came there the darn thing was closed on holiday. monks on holiday! only in belgium. luckily the brasserie was open and we tasted all beers and cheeses - then we went to the local pizza joint to have a pizza with 4 chimay cheeses on it. oh yeah the rest of the week was spent sitting on the front porch of the cabin with a few crates of chimay and a pile of cheese.
