In all seriousness, be yourself, make her feel at ease. Don't be to overtalkative.
Try and find out if their is any middle ground (subjects you both have in common).
Nothing is expected for a first date as you are the other blokes wingman.
Be curtious and a gent.

lolz rofl n all that. Lin is right, she's not with a footballer is she? But seriously, every single one of you has said be yourself. Great advice yes, but it has me wondering if NOT being yourself during a date is a common occurrence. Do men lie a lot on dates? Make up or exaggerate stories? Give me the real story! Men are so complected.

I'd say some do, but not all!

I definitely know a few guys who've embelished the truth a bit when chatting up women that came back to punch them in the nuts later on.
