Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
yes supernova co-op is over the internet and i'm breordering and downloading the demo as soon as its out.
Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
L4D does look like a stunning game. Co-Op at its best it could be.
AvP was the game that scared the shit out of me most. Couldn't get past the first few levels as that beep and those flickering red lights shit me up.
The lights in the lift at work were half out the other week. As the lift doors shut the flurescent lamp started flickering randomly as they do and I got genuine flashbacks. I was expecting the lift doors to open and all the lockers strewn everywhere, with a few colleagues mauled and hanging from the ceiling.
It was fine though, just another shit day at work

Seeing as it's only 4 player....IF we have a dedi box and IF the server side demands arent too high (lotta ai number crunching) I think it'd be a kickass idea!FullMetal wrote:Seeing as quite a few people from TF2 are gunna get it, maybe a fests place for that?

Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
I used to do the same with my friend!Johnimus Prime wrote:Yeah Resident Evil (2 is my favourite) and Silent Hill scared the crap out of me. I used to get stoned and watch my mate play them - for some strange reason I found this scarier and more entertaining than playing it myselfBBloke wrote:Gonna have to try this one then. Headphones on loud... lights down low... oh yeah!
I remember Silent Hill and resident evil on the PS1.. fuck they were good and scary.. I get more shivers playing horror games than watching any horror movie.. and I've seen too many too count.
He loves horror games, but I was happy to simply watch and drink tea!
Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
I know that you can play on both sides, if you want. Players cam spawn as the zombies and attack others, which could be an awful lot of fun on an all talk server.FullMetal wrote:Seeing as quite a few people from TF2 are gunna get it, maybe a fests place for that?
I could see myself shouting "BRAAAAIIIIIIINNNNSSSS" a lot

Multiplayer
In the deathmatch "Versus" mode, four additional players can take control of powerful Infected with unique abilities, amongst the other AI-controlled Infected. The playable Infected numbers are limited so players must select their preferred Infected and wait for it to spawn, with the Tank as the exception — it's only playable a few times during each scenario. The Infected have the ability to see survivors through the walls at a certain range if the survivors are running, with the flashlight on, or talking. The Infected can also see in the dark, unlike the Survivors. Infected spawn ahead of the Survivors and can, if they stay still, see a marker for their likely path of advance so they can set up ambushes. Throughout levels, Infected-only ways up buildings are marked with symbols. These can be climbed and used for ambushes, especially with the Infected immunity to falling damage.
from the wiki page. so 8-player multiplayer???? 4 humans vs a horde of AI zombies and 4 human controlled uber zombies??? or 'Infected' even.

Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
I've played a bit of zombie panic source (the physics in it is horrible, could do with a lot of work, but it's exactly the same idea, though solely multiplayer) and it was a lot of fun. Things like the more ammo you carry the slower you run, you have to find weapons and not get eaten by zombies. Zombies have say 15 lives and humans have 1 each, each time a zombie dies the count decreases, each time a human dies they become a zombie. I had loads of fun there, so am really looking forward to a properly made game (not an user created hl2 mod) on the same lines
I'll definitely be pre-ordering

Re: TF2 team have been working on L4D
If the engine allows it, I'm sure people will mod it to support more players. Then they will create maps with fortress structures and put themselves and as many players they can get on the server against an endless stream of undead. I'll be among them. Let it come true.
