Formel Eins!
Re: Formel Eins!
It's never been the same since Murray Walker retired. That was F1 for me.

Re: Formel Eins!
Murry 'Kiss Of Death' Walker?
One of my favourite murrayisms was when he was commenting on a race and suddenly got all excited because all of a suddent he whole pack was back together.
Murray Walker said something like "and look at that! They are all together - incredible"
His fellow commentator (James Hunt RIP) said, completely deadpan, "Yes Murray. They are showing a replay of the start"

Re: Formel Eins!
The Chain is back alright...as is murray
but not for the commentary, just bits and bobs on the website and I suppose some pre race coveragerydoo
You can get your Murray fix on the redbutton now. The beeb are showing an F1 preview loop.
What about that Brawn GP car???
Either massively quick or massively underweight. A second clear of the field at the minute in both qually and race trim...new lap record today...ok it's only testing..you can never directly compare, but they have given some of the other teams The Fear. If the car is running legitimately, it'll walk the 1st GP at least
Ferrari-technician: "They are one second faster than us. It can't be real."
Flavio(Renault): "When I arrived here I was still optimistic as far as our chances are concerned. Now I am not optimistic any more."
Sam Michael(Williams): "If they can repeat these laptimes in Melbourne which were set by Button on Wednesday morning during his long stint, Button and Barrichello will win the Australian Grand Prix by one lap advantage."
Norbert Haug(Mercedes): "The team have had more time for developing the 2009's car than the others. It seems to pay off."
Mclaren still seem to be tail end charlies. I so want it to be true, a good year for Jenson and a bad year for macca/hamilton would help readjust the hypemachine levels somewhat. If their pace is genuine, it'll be the biggest upset in years...but preseason testing has flattered to deceive before
6 teams are finished their testing, 4 - mclaren, brawn, renault and williams - have 4 more days in Jerez next week...cant wait to see the relative pace of the cars then
It's gonna be a great season, only 2 weeks to go!!

Re: Formel Eins!
hurray for the spiky blu shell of doom
Re: Formel Eins!
Wohoo, what a great race I thought, good to see Button finally with a good car under him, and two englishmen on the podium and 2 British teams! Excellent. Kubica must be gutted though, had it all there and just tried to force the issue.
On another note, is this the most beautiful F1 car ever??

He's never going to miss an opportunity to get in the public eye though really. Terrific start for him!DragoonKnight wrote:surprised to see richard branson in F1.

Re: Formel Eins!
Yer have been a big F1 Nut and WRC, but since WRC has been moved from Terrestrial TV it’s a pain to follow, Just over the last year or so drifted away from F1.
We have been members of McLaren and Williams supporters clubs.
A couple of years back we went to the McLaren Factory the weekend after Kimi Raikkonen had, had a big crash and what was left of the car was sitting in the workshop waiting to be rebuilt. This was just before they moved to they new building.
Good to see the BBC has it back and watch the re-run of the race this afternoon.
Nice 1 Jenson,Rubens and good luck to Brawn GP.

Re: Formel Eins!
No adverts, and of course The Chain intro. F1 is back.
