What Big-Dog and Little-Dog can do is amazing and extremely difficult to program.

I did a Robotics class this semester and the only thing i really learned was that it is ridiculously hard to make a robot do the most basic things. We were using those lego robotics kit and programming them in Java. It was just frustrating. You try to make it travel around an obstacle and if the precision of the turns are off the robot becomes lost and ends up smashing into a wall over and over.

Yeah it's very difficult and I don't believe little dog (or does it mention somewhere?) does it by himself. He probably get's the data from a second computer using wifi or bluetooth and that 2nd one does all the hard realtime calculations (if it is realtime, could be that the steps are predetermined and some correction is in the program).

That actually freaked me out a bit! I didnt think it was that big until the kicked it!! WTF! The worst thing they could do to that thing is give it a face. Then it will be truely terrifying!
