the running backwards thing as a pyro is because the flame does a higher damage at a closer distance. If you notice that when you move your flame left to right you can see follow slowly, it's not an instant straight line.

In the same way, when you run forwards, the flame pushes out. When you run backwards, it retreats. You could say a pyro running backwards has a longer range of his flames. Assuming no crits and a level playing field, the pyro running backwards will win every time.

So now I've got this image in my head of two pyros standing next to each othr thn running away from each other, first to their own spawn wins! In fact, they might as well not even bother meeting in th first place, jus stay in spawn!

Advent, i agree that the rock paper scissors thing is what make tf2 great, therefore the pyro shouldn't get overpowered and should be kept just for spy checking and causing mayhem in general

The problem with the Pyro is that he is not a killing-character.
That means that he's not ment to kill serveral opponents at once.

While he can sustain moderate ammounts of damage the main function of the pyro is that of agressive first-wave attack; meaning that the pyro is there for deliberately significantly weakening the opponent - not killing them.

The flamethrower is primarily made to burn your opponent removing a significant ammount of health from them letting the rest of your team finishing them off. The pyro can also be a great addition to finishing off enemies with low health with great ease concidering the range of the flamethrower.

You see, you getting killed as a pyro is kind of natural, the pyro is not really ment to be a killing machine. (Leave that for the Heavys, Soldiers and Demomen) The pyros main speciality is to severely damage the first line of attackers so that your team behind can easily finish the burning opponent off.

A great Pyro can significantly weaken the opponent making their attack either significantly weakened or making the opponent constantly walking around looking for healthpacks wasting time and resources giving your team the upper hand.

The Sniper is supposed to be Australian?????? Thats nearly the worst put on accent I've ever heard! I thought he was a bloody London Cockney!

It's so bad it needs to be lofted high with the likes of Kevin costner and Christian Slater in Robin Hood Price of Theives, Mel Gibson in Braveheart and Toco pretending to be Canadian (we know your American really - stop denying it).

I managed to find 'leaked' pyro achivement list but it doesnt have the requirements for them,some of them seem sorta obvious of what you gotta do though
