Hmmm, so I guess it would be tough to catch nospread!

I've often been killed by 2 shots from a scout shotgun from a decent distance, and I wonder is this the reason.

and before you say "no, its because you're useless Eagle", it usually happens when there a scout on who seems too good, if you catch my drift (top of the board by a mile). In suspect cases like this, I'd always spec, but this would be very difficult to notice.

One of the recent changes will help assess what nailed you. They added crit images to weapons detailed in the top right hand corner. The crit kills are now denoted by your weapon type but there is a red glow behind it.

So when a spies face stabs you and you try and become wallpaper you can see that is was a crit face stab rather than just a normal one.

Although I feel your pain Lazy... there have been occasions when I have thought I was way out of any reasonable scattergun range.

I wont say shame on the hack programmers, i say shame on the people.

I was around in the cs 1.6 hacking scene for quite a while and had good connections to some of the hackers.

There are some very genius people out there, which do the hacking not for terrorising other people but for testing if they could find a hole in VAC (which was never a problem at all^^) or Cheating Death (which was THE Anticheat programm), uall was one of the biggest hackers of his time, he created the Cheating Deaths Death program which actualy was a lay over over the normal cheating death, blocking and adding messages to the server. You could run any cheat with it cd proof or not it worked and you werent detected.

Funnything: Eventhough the coders were mostly english speaking, and the coders of those hacks than ran around with 100x normal speed and killed everyone on server in 10 minutes where mostly english speaking, the connection to meet was a german forum, here the ogc the famous cs cheat was distributed, and there was a german guy named Darph who coded an online db for cheats, where you could integrate your cheats, they were tested on malware/spyware than uploaded and than rated and looked if there were proof or not.

I was later sold to another guy, Darph is currently working at Siemens as a software developer.

Though the most people and the even the most cheat programmer just know the name Aimbot and Wallhack or Speedcheat, and all those general names, there are a ton of different mechanics out there to use an aimbot.

And that is where the interesting things start.

The first aimbots where colour bots which aimed at coloured models, or only their coloured heads.
You could distract them by spraying a paint on the wall with those colours^^

Later on there were different technics, Vector style technics, which were aiming on one specific 3D coordinate. Here there was a massiv amount of folks going around testing and testing there vectors, because a vector directly in the center of the model was not the best option.
What would happen if the aimbot only sees the forehead?
Nothing.

So there was so called "Bone" Aiming, which had multible vectors on arms, hands, chest, back, the head etc....

The First Wallhacks that came up showed you the model through the walls, it was inspired by an failed ati grafic driver which did that because of some failures^^

while these wallhacks where irritating more than helping you, the first ESP's came along.

mostly adding distance, weapon, name, health and what he was doing in this moment to the model, so there could stand: 130m, Zed, Sniperrifle, 50hp, crouching, zooming.
It was very compact and many prefered these esp's instead of the normal wallhack, so the modelwallhack was gone, and often there was a box around the model (2D box) so you.

There was one esp that was very famous because it added a black line on the side of the players view which was there even in the demos, was only 1pixel big. It was added by the programmer that sold the hack private with the assurance that it is proof (it was) for people playing in the esl....
He told the esl and so many cheaters where banned.... :D

In the beginning there were Spin hacks also, which means the model spins for the hole time to scan the hole area for enemys, later on these spin mods where pushed to the extend, that the spinning was so fast you did not recognize it and in first person you wont the it at all.

Through the radar hacks, and wallhacks esp you did not need spinhacks anymore.

fuck sorry iam ill inhalating stuff now....

in cs there are granates and the flash granade, though there where hacks that just disabled the flash, the newer generation of hacks, just turned you around, jumped backwards if a he (damage) granade came, warned you from people throughing grenades.

There was a variaty of options in the newer hacks like Slayors, you could adds ton of vecs, in hacks like slayors you could bind the activation of the aimbot on a button which only activated it self if you were like 1 cm away from the model and than only aimed at the part that you were near (arm) then going through a variaty of vecs to the chest and the head.
it looked very very natural...
no spread hacks very later on, first there were hacks called no recoil in cs. which means the spread will stay at the one point you aim it. cause in cs there is also recoil meaning that the bullets which you were shooting wander up the wall if you shoot on one the longer you shoot.
no spread is not so needed, so it came later...

next to the autoaim which was very early, which aimed automaticly (not very smooth very easy to spot) then came autowalk, which turned you cheat into an fully operating bot, which walked waypoints, there where even tries to integrate bot engines into the cheat engine...

So there was a general difference between the normal cheater, which just used ogc or another cheat, turned everyoption on and played very obvious noobstyle, often those cheaters where the guys that said man iam soooo goood bla, and the cheaters that were interested in programming, and trying to hide their cheats from humans (what is very very hard), having very complex and sometimes simple ideas to make it harder to spot the cheats, (like if you were aiming on the wall onto someone which was behind an wall you saw him via wallhack or esp there was an warning that you were aiming at him, and others could not see him).


There was also a spycam which showed you the firstperson view of other players in the enemyteam, you could switch through, there was a warning if somebody specced you, even alternate settings that turned on automaticly.
Cheating with this cheats, you felt like terminator in an alternative reality, having all these gui helps that have these futurcops in the movies...


Soo iam exhausted and i know that i have to rework the hole text 2 times till its readable for everyone^^ sorry

Actually I get shot down A LOT by a single crit scattergun at full health.
If it happens more than once I actually get really pissed off because I think they are hacking and I don't like playing with a bunch of cheat cheap hackers and I leave.

Melee one-hit-death crits I can understand but a from a shotty or a heavy should be fixed.

I also have a hard time with heavies, at full heath, I'll dodge all but three crit bullets and then I'm dead and I'm like WTF...arg!

was that the ati wireframe shader 'feature' ?

You speak of all these CS hacks in the past tense, but the exact same methods and hacks are in use still today unfortunately.

I think you are too knowledgeable on the subject and should be banned!! :lol:

could be that feature dont remember exactly. Yeah those cheats are still used, but it is like most culturs, there are no realy great inventive hackers anymore, there just plain cheaters, and some kids that giving out the 10 ogc resurection edition, or something like this, most of the features, like spycam and all autowalk etc, are not in these cheats anymore, there is no community anymore for good programming shit, you would hardly find any vac/rest proof hacks anymore.

I realy dont know if there still some esl guys cheating, but i can think of. The esp guy made more then 5000 dollars with just selling his cheats, in like 3 months^^ so i can think of guys still programming private shit for selling. but there is no uall anymore. he even revealed some of his hacking methods to help the aquarious programmer (its the personal anticheat programm from the esl inspired by cheating death) do his job good.

Cheating in this time was like talking about HIV, the hackers did new "proof" hacks, 99% of the cheaters were SOO easy to recognize so if you only knew a little bit about cheating (which i think is the job of an good admin) it would be easy to have the server clean from cheaters, and for the harder demos where you could not detect it very easy there were websites which you could send them to, they would see the demo with wallhacks enabled by themselves and look at the aiming and stuff, giving out banlists...
and united admins programmed cheating death, there was hl guard, and all those anti cheating programms, and iam shure if you had a good admin on your server then it was cheater free...
