By all accounts retiring at 65 is not a given. If you want to continue to work and are capable of doing so a company cannot force your hand and make you retire. The company I'm at now has a fantastic retirment plan. You don't have to retire if you don't want and you can come to work all day every day, do nothing and still be paid without complaint.

This is another of those ridiculous laws that only seems to please a very small vocal minority that live in london.

If you went and talked to the majority of people on the street and asked them about this they would say "Its a load of bollox, it wont stop people smoking as the addiction is already there."

Its not gonna stop kids wanting to smoke as there are always ways to get fags. Its illeagal to buy them now for under 16's so theyre just gonna nick them off their parents like they have been anyway.

All it does is inconvienice people.

I bet it was a room full of fat bastards munching cake, sitting round a table and moaning how the NHS an the media and the public is always picking on obesity. Lets shout loud enough and get a silly law passed that puts the coutrys health problems on someone else.

I read a letter in The Bolton News by a woman. Reading it I could tell she is way down on the social ladder, lives in a council house, gets benefits, has 5 kids named Charlie, Champagne, Chelsea, McKenzie and Bob... etc etc


Apparently she went shopping during the day, as you do... and she wrote a letter to the paper to complain that the christmas lights weren't on and it was a waste of tax payers money.


Forgive me if I am wrong, but, isn't the idyll of having 'lights' to illuminate dark places? hence christmas lights are switched on at 'night'? I think the Sun does a pretty fine job.
