I'd be very surprised if he wasn't given a minimum sentence on the provisor that he goes and works for CIA / MI5 and keeps his mouth shut.BBloke wrote:It does sound bleak for the guy. Lets hope it doesn't go the way of the "worse case" scenario. He'd be a seriously good assest to any company requiring stringent security protocols. After all don't some of the better viral writers end up working for company who write virus scanners?!

I am seriously considering becoming a thief of some sort, it seems such an easy path into a security job after you have served your time...BBloke wrote:It does sound bleak for the guy. I think they should through the book at the muppet.
He knew what he had done was morally wrong and now he deserves to face the consequences of his actions.
As for hiring him, well the US will have people with 10x's his ability on their staff, they just need to pen test their networks more often and more thoroughly.
I'm ex military and I also used to work for sensitive companies when I left the military (my old DV clearance made it easy to get these jobs). These companies have to put up with these nobbers with no life trying to hack/crack/exploit or whatever term you care to use to mess up their networks.
Nobody should be able to get away with trying to steal military secrets.
