did you run the command from the right directory?
Does the bindir folder exist?
on a side note, i've only just discovered that a two fingered click on the multi touch touchpad in ff3 (ubuntu) is a shortcut for paste, awesome

Hum...Donno...The mysql web site just tells me to get-apt. Nothing about maunally installing it.

There should be a file called maybe config or settings, and they should somewhere define bindir, search for it? check if it's there?
it may well be called makefile.
And, can't you connect to the net? assuming networking is functioning in qemu, that would be so much easier ;P

Yeah the laptop I'm using isnt connected. If it was I'd be skiping this step to installing mysql. Might have to see if someone has put it together as a .deb package.

Ahh I give up. Either this book I'm using is retarted or it doesnt follow deb well... Anywho I'm frustrated at it... Going to good old win2003..LOL
