Torchwood
Re: Torchwood
I've been kinda stuck with the whole Captain Jack and immortal think. I know Rose brought him back to life but wasn't that after they first met during the "Are you my mummy" 2 parter?
It's not so much his story line but his timeline. There's been references to WW2 and earlier!!! It's friday and my head hurts and bloody work has increased my workload 3 fold!! BASTARDS!

Well I think he was originally from the future, but then at the end of the first of the latest of the new series, when the Daleks came back and Billie got possessed by the Tardis, she resurrected him, but kind of made a balls of it because now he can't die.
I think the Doctor told him he was "a specific instant in time and space" which is a nice flowery way of saying "we're not really going to explain the how, just accept it"
Re: Torchwood
Thats when he first appeared, he then appeared later (I think it was the same series but it could have been the one after that) in the dalek episode when he was killed.BBloke wrote:I've been kinda stuck with the whole Captain Jack and immortal think. Yeh you could be a bit stuck if you've not remembered all the Dr Who and Torchwood episodes. Like Captain Jack was buried alive for 1000 years or so during one episode by his brother in the past, and I think in a Doctor Who episode he got left in the past so just had to live through the Victorian era, which is when he started working for Torchwood.BBloke wrote:It's not so much his story line but his timeline. Re: Torchwood
They do that A LOT really, basically cause they don't know, and they like to make out that the Doctor is superbrainy and way beyond us mortals so don't even question him!LazyEagle wrote:BBloke wrote:I think the Doctor told him he was "a specific instant in time and space" which is a nice flowery way of saying "we're not really going to explain the how, just accept it"

Re: Torchwood
It all goes back to John Pertwie love of the phrase "reverse the polarity".
It was used once in a script, but he enjoyed saying the words so much that whenever there was technobabble he didn't want to say, he just said reverse the polarity instead!

:s To me it looked like they were wrapping up the whole Torchwood saga there, only Gwen remaining, the rest of the team dead, their base blown up. Reckon that there will be another series? I can't see it myself

Well, as far as I know, they're planning to bring it back in this format indefinitely.Jonnywhy wrote::s To me it looked like they were wrapping up the whole Torchwood saga there, only Gwen remaining, the rest of the team dead, their base blown up. the next time you'll see it will be another 5 episode mini series, which considering the quality of this one, is a great idea in my opinion.
Re: Torchwood
Oh cool, must be getting some new characters in for that then, maybe that secratary girl for one.
And when is the Hobbit meant to be coming out? And what about Day of the Triffids? I read that a couple of weeks, and now I want to see it darn it!
