Being from the Netherlands, where it has been widely accepted for years, I'm glad to see something like this finally being accepted in (most of) the US & rest of the world.

Wow that's pretty embarrasing it still isn't in Britain.

Although 60% of the population agree with introuducing same sex marraige they don't want to upset other religions.

in the uk you can enter into a civil partnership as a same sex couple which has all the same legal aspects as being married. i guess it depends on how much weight you attribute to the term 'marriage', i dont really see it as a big deal, its just a word.. but people seem to think it means a lot. i know people who are married but still have separate bank accounts.. kinda says something..

Yeah it isn't legal in Britain. You are allowed a civil partnership however.

Like I said 60% agree to gay marriages but the only reason it hasn't gone forward is Britain is too worried it would upset the peoples that follow Islam.

I am in no way racist but that is just ridiculous. Our country is too worried about upsetting other religions that inhabit our country enough so they won't change their laws.

You react like a lot of people i know... :)

Marriage is indeed just a word... Just like "Love" is just a word, "friendship" is just a word...

It's the meaning of that word, which gives you an emotion... And it's that emotion each person gives a different value...

Was there ever a greater example of the glass half full/empty scenario.
You have just illustrated your perspective on everything perfectly.

Your statement implies 50% succes rate as well so why choose to always focus on the negative.

If you want a guarantee in life - go and buy a television.

Otherwise, roll the dice, have a good attitude and things might just have a nice ending.
