I'm the programmer for the mod we've finally released. You need HL2 Ep2, so be sure to install and run it before playing NH2. Other than that, have fun!

Just played through the prologue, Didn't really like it so far.
It's not very scary or very horror like so far, It's just using cheap annoying scares like things falling through the ceiling, or monsters being thrown in your face constantly with a creepy noise or two. It just feels like screamer scares really so far, like the ones in Doom 3 with enemies being thrown at you from around the corners or long corridors, and that just annoys me as it's quite predictable and put me off playing Doom 3 all together. Also, the seizure lights aren't very helpful, and the head bobbing is quite annoying.
But, I'm going to continue with the rest of the mod and see if it improves.

The prologue is really old to be fair, it's from 2007. It's just a remake of NH1. The main mod is the interesting bit.

You can turn off viewbob with cl_viewbob_enabled 0

So - So far it's just a jumpy not a horror?

Prologue is jumpy but Chapters 1-7 are atmospheric. Prologue is only there for people who have not played NH1.
