I'm not sure what happened but before they changed rapidshare I had 20 days of premium left, now they've changed the payment model and I have 180 days. I can't complain though.

yeah, everyone is in the same boat with the amount of time left Exec, the thing is though, that they have completely removed the incentive to upload. Before, if you uploaded stuff that was then downloaded, you would gain rapid points, so essentially, if you were uploading enough stuff, you could get your account for free.

With that gone, there just isn't the incentive anymore, which is why a lot of the rapidshare links only sites have now started including megashare, hotfile etc etc

Rapidshare are going to lose business very fast if they don't add the rapidpoints system again. I got a fair few rapidpoints by uploading some hard to find drivers which aren't available from the original vendor anymore.

they will lose a lot of business, but people were using Rapidshare for years before downloading of tv shows and movies became popular.

From the tone of the explanation mails, it sounds like they're getting way too much grief from copyright holders who are forcing them to remove files.
I'm pretty certain they did their maths, and worked out the cost of such hassle is much more than the loss of business.
