I woke up this evening and my steam friends list looked like this


Might look just normal on the first glimpse but it isn't.
I don't see any friends anymore, only if I expand one of the groups.
Group members that are also on my friends list are marked with a star.
Groups that have too many members don't show them. The FP group for example, the FP L4D group doesn't have as many people in it that's why I can see who's online from that group.

I talked to BBloke to see if it's just me or if Steam fucked us all over. No problem on his end, his list is looking normal. My brother has the same problem.

Did anyone else ever had this happen to him / her ??

Ok, same prob here, as well as numerous others on forums, including monkeymarbles, and many of my friends.

Nothing concrete except these, many people myself included have provided the details and our id's as asked, no answers yet. Some people retain their friends list, many don't. Groups always seem to be untouched.

Thanks guys, feels good to know that I'm not alone on this one and that valve is already looking into it.

First I thought they changed the way the friend's list works in general. I mean, it's not like companies switching to totally ridiculous and not user friendly interfaces. Best example right now is youtube I'd say.

Well its odd that nothing official has been posted, and also that its affected a small amount of their users. It also seems to have happened out of the blue, not after a certain update or anything. First I heard of it was Toco on the server ( I think) suddenly claiming his friends had all gone, and all making jokes of him having no friends. Only after leaving for some tea and biscuits did I realise I had same problem. 2 friends have been re added but thats all.

Re added ?? Did you add them or did they just appear on your list again ?

As in the both added me AGAIN, had to accept them again which was a bitch as I couldnt access community page for a long while. Not that they appeared again

Same happened/happens to me and my friend´s list from time to time - but this time it´s for an awfully big time span.
Btw the stars only mean that this ppl are group admins - if you remember I made all ppl of Fester´s Place joinin the group to admins; that´s the reason here.
Why steam is so fucked up I can´t explain
