Aloha, I thought I'd drop in and say hi.
I am currently sitting in my 'office' or our second bedroom as others would call it, 5 miles inland from venice beach in LA

I has taken me a while but I finally got the visa in November and moved over in December...and got married just before new years. I'm currently waiting on the marraige cert to apply for a green card.
I hear ireland is a little damp....

Who's this Bloke guy?

Happy for you Flynn, hope you get past the green-card-pain-in-the-ass-business quick.

Thanks guys.
Cambo I'm in Culver city about 20 minutes north of LAX. I got all my corrections and stuff done for the PhD by Jan of last year and spent the next 8 months trying to get a fiancee visa for the US, the american in the US embassy that interviewed me for the visa thought Cardiff was in Ireland. I actually got a job in Ireland last March doing some PHP and web development for a small company. Which is great because I now have almost a full year of professional (well PHP) programming experience . They're letting me work remotely until I get a green card. The work permit for the US comes along with the grren card so I can't work here till then annoyingly enough.
Sorry Fester I don't actually have any photos of the place up yet. Must take a few (We're thinking of buying a Canon 650D with some wedding money

). It has actaully rained a fair bit since I arrived which is unusual for LA seen as it's in a desert. The temps have hit 25c a few times though.
....I'm just waiting for my first earthquake.......
