If you have a realtek HD Audio mobo then you may want to mute the stereo mix, IIRC
Funnily enough I had to swap out the soundcard that was bundled with my mobo for my old Audigy in order to be able to record voices in those videos, as the bundled card doesn't support "What u hear". Its given me nothing but grief, the wierd feedback has only been part of it - but its worth it just to be able to fraps some of the stuff that goes on in festers.

I think the only problem now is that the mic jack is just really worn out so if the wires get moved a bit it starts going crazy.

Its a mic built into the volume control for my speakers, which I also plug my headphones into when using voicechat.

Thats why it sounds a bit rubbish its the quility of the mic thats in that unit.. nothing to beat a proper mic thats made for the job ;)
