Balloon boy hoax??

This was the top news story the other day. It played out live on tv. The balloon was in the air for 2 hours. Was it a hoax?

Saw it on Mythbusters that you need like 2-4k balloons to get a 6 y.o. girl in the air :D

It also turns out that the Dad is a bit of a "wacky stormchaser" type, who seems to like being on tv.
The family have been on the US Wife Swap show TWICE!!!!

First thing I thought when I saw it on the news was that it could be hoax. It seemed highly unlikely then the fathers storm chaser theatrics with the kids in tow started making me think it was a publicity stunt to get some airtime or press coverage.

Apparently, they are now going to press charges on the family and possibly make them pay for all of the time and money wasted. :lol:
