Lol Bbloke, Dirty fecker
Have one of these + case and psu, still in the box. Need SD card to install the OS.
Thinking of using it is a media player in me car.

Re: Raspberry Pi
Old thread but I didn't think it was worth sticking a new one up.
I've got a raspberry pi B+ model. Came as a kit from Amazon.
Raspberry Pi Start Kit
I also got one of these:
Mini keyboard
It's running RaspBMC and working well with the gyration media center remote too. It's one hell of a piece of kit.
I used it to replace a WDTV Live Player (which is a great box in it self but it stutters playing off my NAS box).
Considering the cost difference is negligible the Pi is a lot better in more regards than the WDTV box. The plus WD has is the SPDIF out and that's only as I have an old AMP with no HDMI inputs. So £50 for the Pi vs £64 for the WD. No brainer.

Re: Raspberry Pi
I'm using mine as an HTPC running XBMC/Kodi.
You could always stick on FUSE (ZX Spectrum emulator) and see if that runs ok. Or UAE or MAME to bring back the good old days.
It's simply just a small linux PC (Raspian) but you can connect stuff to the GPIO strip and program if you're so inclined.
I think they are ace for the money if you like to play with stuff.

May get one to control my telescope remotely...
Re: Raspberry Pi
Ah, there's an idea. Sounds like a nice project. Are there programs/methods already around the net?

Re: Raspberry Pi
Yeah I think some bods have written some software already. Havent' got much further into investigating it yet though.
Re: Raspberry Pi
It'd be nice to have something like that to do with mine but the only thing I can do at the moment is use it as an HTPC. A friend said it's not to bad as a game console ala 1980's but give it something intense like street fighter 2 on the mega drive and it falls over.
